In the event that Liberty Insurance is required to make payment under the Security Bond required by Ministry of Manpower, the Proposer will need only reimburse Liberty the “Excess” amount, provided that the payment is not caused by or resulting from the Proposer’s breach of the conditions under the Security Bond.
The “Excess” amount will vary as follows:
- A. S$250 if this extension of coverage is purchased when the insurance package is first arranged subject to a waiting period of 30 days from the policy inception date
- B. S$500 if this extension is purchased mid-term but within one month of the policy inception date subject to a waiting period of 30 days from the date of inclusion
Cancellation Refund Policy
Cover ceases automatically from the date of the Letter of Discharge from Ministry of Manpower, Liberty Insurance will refund the premium based on the following Short-term Refund Table. No premium refund shall be given in the event of a claim.

- The Insured Person must be in the immediate employment of the Insured and holds a valid work permit.

- Pre-existing conditions*
- Illness, disease, mental defect, infirmity or insanity
- AIDS and diseases associated with HIV
- Pregnancy, childbirth, abortion, miscarriage, and or its complications
- Suicide or self-inflicted injury
- Drug or alcohol abuse
- War and nuclear related events
- Participation in under-water activities involving artificial breathing apparatus, hunting, potholing, parachuting, sky diving, mountaineering and rock climbing necessitating the use of guides or ropes
- Flying or other aerial activity except as a fare-paying passenger
- Any kind of speed contest or racing (other than foot) and motor rallies
* This exclusion shall not apply if the Insured Person is continually covered under insurance policy with any insurance company for the last 12 months.

This policy is protected under the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC). Coverage for your policy is automatic and no further action is required from you. The additional 2 months cover is mandated by MOM against any unforeseen circumstances for which the domestic worker may have to remain in Singapore as required by MOM after her work permit expires. This is to ensure she has valid insurance cover.

Yes, you can add in the cover within the first 15 days from the issuance of the policy.
For a small additional premium, you can reduce your S$5,000 bond liability to S$250 if breaching of the bond is not due to your fault or negligence.
• For New Maid – Around the date when your maid is due to arrive in Singapore.
• For Transferred Maid – The day you wish to apply for issuance of her work permit at MOM.
• For Renewal Maid – The current work permit’s expiry date.
It will be electronically transmitted to MOM from Monday to Friday at 5pm and on Saturday at
12noon.
Please note that the electronic transmission to MOM must be done before arrival of your
domestic worker to Singapore, failing which Immigration and Checkpoints Authority will deny
entry to your domestic worker and she will be repatriated to her home country.
Employers or Agents are required to check for successful bond transmission via Work Permit
Online Portal (WPOL) before arranging for the arrival of your domestic worker.
For renewal cases, transmission will be done on the day of policy issuance. You may renew your
domestic worker’s work permit the next working day after successful transmission.
For purchases via our website and over the phone, we offer the convenience of payment through interbank transfer.
