POLICY CANCELLATION & REFUND (Only applicable for 26 months policy)

In the event of termination of the domestic maid's employment contract or Work Permit with the Employer in Singapore, cover ceases automatically from the date of the Letter of Discharge from the Ministry of Manpower.

If the Policy is cancelled

  • Within 3 months from the Commencement of the Period of Insurance, the refund shall be 70%.
  • Within 6 months from the Commencement of the Period of Insurance, the refund shall be 30%.
  • Within 12 months from the Commencement of the Period of Insurance, the refund shall be 15%.
    The above refund is subject to no claim made under the Policy.
  • After 12 months from the Commencement of the Period of Insurance, there shall be no refund or endorsement to be issued. There will be no refund for 14 months policy upon cancellation.

 

Extensions:
* Communicable diseases e.g. Tuberculosis, SARS & H1N1 are covered under Section 3 – Hospital & Surgical Benefits.
* Repatriation Expenses extend to include death or permanent disablement from suicide.

Why is the policy cover for 14 or 26 months when MOM only issues a 12 or 24 months work permit?

The additional 2 months cover is mandated by MOM against any unforeseen circumstances for which the domestic worker may have to remain in Singapore as required by MOM after her work permit expires.  This is to ensure she has valid insurance cover.

Yes, you can add in the cover within the first 15 days from the issuance of the policy.

For a small additional premium, you can reduce your S$5,000 bond liability to S$250 if breaching of the bond is not due to your fault or negligence.

• For New Maid – Around the date when your maid is due to arrive in Singapore.
• For Transferred Maid – The day you wish to apply for issuance of her work permit at MOM.
• For Renewal Maid – The current work permit’s expiry date.

It  will be electronically transmitted to MOM from Monday to Friday at 5pm and on Saturday at
12noon.

Please note that the electronic transmission to MOM must be done before arrival of your
domestic worker to Singapore, failing which Immigration and Checkpoints Authority will deny
entry to your domestic worker and she will be repatriated to her home country.

Employers or Agents are required to check for successful bond transmission via Work Permit
Online Portal (WPOL) before arranging for the arrival of your domestic worker.

For renewal cases, transmission will be done on the day of policy issuance. You may renew your
domestic worker’s work permit the next working day after successful transmission.

For purchases via our website and over the phone, we offer the convenience of payment through interbank transfer.

If you visit our office to arrange the insurance, you can pay with cash or cheque.

We will provide refund for policies cancelled within 12 months.

If the policy is cancelled

The insurance company, Lonpac Insurance Bhd, acts as a guarantor by providing a Letter of Guarantee to MOM on behalf of you - the employer.  In the event that the employer or domestic worker breached the MOM’s rules and conditions, MOM will call up the bond from Lonpac for which they will recover from you.
